How to install the Nmbrs® HR Word add-in from the MS Office Store

Installing the Word add-in for Microsoft Office is straightforward, however you need to have access to the Office Store.

Add the add-in

If you use Office 365 from your web browser:
- Open Office 365 in your web browser (

- Open the app drawer in the upper left side of the browser window (9 squares icon).

- Select "Store" from the apps.

- Look for, select and install Nmbrs® Template builder from this page.

The add-in for Word Online has now been added. Please note that Word Online is not yet as sophisticated as the standard local version of Word. Building templates might not be as smooth and fast as in the standard Word versions.

If you use Microsoft Word 2013 or newer:
- The MS Office Store may be available in Word versions from 2013 SP1 onward. Look for a blue hexagon or red shopping bag icon in the "Insert" menu.

- When clicked a pop-up opens. Look for "Nmbrs", select and install the add-in.

If you use Word for Mac OS:
Microsoft does not support the installation of add-ins in their Mac version yet although there is a workaround.

- Download the XML file attached to this article

- Open "Finder",

- Open the "Go" menu from your top bar.

- Press "alt" to make the "Library" option visible above "Computer" and select.

- Now you will be able to browser trough your folders to find the folder

- If the "wef" folder doesn't exist, create it.

- Move the xml file to this folder.

- Open Word, and then open a document. Restart Word if it's already running.

- In Word, choose Insert > Add-ins > My Add-ins, and then choose the add-in.

Microsoft only supports the office store for Office versions from 2013 onward. Furthermore, your IT department may have hidden the Office Store from view, preventing you from installing third party apps. Please contact your IT department or administrator if you do not have the option to open or install add-ins from the Office Store.

There is no need to login from the Word add-in, because we do not retrieve any data from your Nmbrs® HR app to build templates. Word will also not be involved when you actually create a document from a template in one of your cases.
